Adele has been plagued with throat problems this year which has even led to her cancelling gigs but luckily not stopped her from winning awards! Doctors have told the young singer that she needs to rest her vocal cords and stop all promotional appearances for the rest of the year. Luckily, the operation she had earlier this month to remove a benign polyp at Massachusetts General Hospital has been a success.
A couple of days ago Adele wrote a thank you letter to her fans saying:
Sorry I haven’t written for a while. Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I’m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I’m just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors. Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I’ve won recently as well. Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now. Take care, miss you all –
Always adele xx
The speculation earlier this month that Adele had cancer was strongly denied by her management. They said “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord, all reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.” A hemorrhaged vocal cord is usually the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture. The Doctor who treated Adele Dr Steven Zeitels, director of the hospital’s Voice Centre, also treated stars Julie Andrews, Cher and Roger Daltrey of The Who, so she was in good hands. Good news is that Adele leads the field with four nominations at the American Music Awards to be held in Los Angeles on November 20th. She has been nominated for artist of the year, favorite female artist, favorite album and favorite adult contemporary artist. We wish you luck at the awards Adele and a speedy recovery.
