MTV bring Jersey Shore to Newcastle; Geordie Shore
MTV’s Jersey Shore has come to the UK in the form of Geordie Shore with an equally outrageous cast! Eight ‘loud and proud’ Geordies are set to parade their tanned and buffed bodies and party for six weeks. During the day they will work for a promotions company and at night hit the hot spots on the Diamond Strip. But why did MTV choose Newcastle as the location for this American hit TV show remake? Director of Geordie Shore explains “Jersey Shore is set in the summer and it is always summer in the North East. No one wears a coat and Geordie girls are always out in their mini-skirts.†However, Geordie locals are not convinced as Facebook page ‘RIP Geordie Pride’ posts “we can no longer be proud to have a Geordie accent after these idiots embarrass us on TV.â€

Pros and Cons of plus size Summer skirts
I am not by tradition a skirt person. Jeans yes, skirts no. But due to the heat this summer I have ditched my jeans in favour of plus size summer skirts for work and daywear. The cons became immediately apparent! Creasing….Some styles crease so easily. After sitting the car for half an hour the skirt has totally lost its crisp and ironed look. Some summer skirts are also too see-through and as a result not suitable for wearing to work or around town. Another problem I have encountered is that in the heat I feel stickier around the legs in a skirt than in jeans! However, none of these cons will stop me from wearing skirts in the summer now I have discovered some styles I like. They make you feel far more feminine with so many pretty styles to choose from. Arizona to fine overweight welfare claimants
Only in America? We take our NHS system for granted in the UK but in America it is a different story with everyone needing medical insurance in order to receive treatment in the hospitals. For those on welfare they enter Medicaid, the programme which provides healthcare for the poor. And the cost of medical care is climbing just as Americans waist bands are expanding. At the moment the Medicaid program is costing the government £209 billion a year. And now the US state of Arizona wants to start clawing money back and have put forward a plan to fine overweight welfare claimants, as well as smokers and diabetics who ignore advice, £31 if they don’t follow a dietary regime laid down by their doctor.
