In 2005 Bhs [site: www.bhs.co.uk] acquired Etam UK and offered Amelie May, and Tammy in the Bhs stores. Amelie May clothing offered plus sizes for women from then on however, recently it has become unavailable in favour of Evans clothing.
Yet, in regard to Amelie May clothing, the Bhs site it says ‘We are not able to offer the following products for sale online but we will be within the next couple of months.’ Does this mean we will see the return of Amelie May clothing?
What is clear is that Amelie May clothing is no longer available at the present time but Evans clothing is.
The range available from Evans is a small selection of the clothes available from the Evans store and includes a selection of printed tees, tops, jeans, and dresses. A lot of the Evans clothes are at sale prices.
It does not make sense for Bhs to stop the Amelie May clothing as it has reduced the plus size fashion offering in the UK.
It seems people who shopped at Evans also bought Amelie May clothing so rather than provide more fashion options for plus size women, Bhs has reduced the options.
The style of clothing available from Amelie May clothing is, or was, different to the style available at Evans.
It also strikes me that if someone wants to buy clothes from Evans, they will go to their local Evans store or online store. Where as the only place to buy Amelie May clothing was Bhs.
Did you like Amelie May clothing? What do you think of Bhs’ decision? Let us know.
