The Big Beautiful Women pageant 2010 was held earlier in August in Philadelphia. The pageant showcased ten of the finest plus size women from across the US.
The Pageant was designed to show the public that plus size women can be as pretty, intelligent, talented, sexy, elegant and look good in their choice of clothing as well as what society has labeled the slender model types.
All ten contestants exuded confidence in the categories of lingerie, talent, formal wear, and interview. .
One contestant said she believed the pageant expressed how beautiful plus size women are and as ‘the majority of people are big’ how beautiful the majority of people are. Plus size women need to embrace and love who they are and live a healthy lifestyle.
Another contestant believes that the Big Beautiful Women pageant is a chance for the world to see that plus size women are beautiful, just as beautiful as straight size women. It is not about weight, it is about what is inside that counts. Plus size women can be models, or what ever they want to be.
The winner of the Big Beautiful Women pageant, Chiquita McKenzie, wishes to go on to encourage other plus size people and innovate beauty.
Well done ladies!
I bet it felt great to get out there and strutt your stuff, you are all beautiful with your curves and I hope this type of pageant will continue to grow as our society is still very shallow in the way they resond to anyone outside the normal sizing. They need to “get real” and they need to see a display of how 1/3 of woman look and also see those women proud and confident in there size.
