At the beginning of this year France introduced the Sugar Tax in a bid to curb obesity. America have been talking about introducing something similar for some time and some authorities will not allow food tokens to be used to purchase sugary drinks. US experts are now saying that sugar is as addictive and damaging as alcohol and tobacco and as such should be regulated.

The government has convened a group of experts to identify non-legislative solutions to tackle the causes of low levels of body confidence. This includes representatives from health and fitness, fashion and retail, youth and education, media and advertising, and the beauty sectors. And the plus size magazine Beautiful has taken part. The editor, Sue Thomason has even given evidence at the parliamentary inquiry this week into the Causes and Consequences of Body Image Anxiety in the UK.
The French government takes action to reduce child obesity
As child obesity increases in France the French government have sanctioned a tax on sugary drinks which has been imposed this week. It is believed this tax will raise more than 100 million Euros for the government which they will use to fund lower social security charges for farm workers. Good all round then?
It is not just a woman thing: 60% of men are unhappy with their body
It seems it is not just women who worry about how they look. A recent study carried out by the University of West England found that 4 out of 5 men are unhappy with their body showing that they are concerned about their body image.
