Karen Gillan plays Amy Pond, Doctor Who‘s new assistant.
Karen is, truly and annoyingly, a lucky, pretty, talented, happy, smart, leggy, ordinary, honest, laughing girl, from a very loving family.
Born in Inverness 22 years ago, she toyed for a while with a career in music before being told her acting was better than her singing, and heading to London’s Italia Conti school, which she soon quit to take her first TV job, in an episode of Rebus.
After doing some modelling, she decided to try out for Amy.
She now stars alongside the new Doctor Who.
Now Karen Gillan has also had the opportunity to come face to face with own plastic mini-me.
The actress stands at a whopping 5 ft 11 (180cm) – which was obviously a major plus in her modelling career, and hasn’t seemed to set her back in the rest of her life either.
Her mini-me action figure meanwhile, stands at just 5 inches.
The Scottish actress seemed a little bemused to launch her very own action figure, as she gave it a sideways glance ahead of its launch at the Glasgow branch of toy store Hamleys.
The plastic Amy comes with fully poseable limbs, and is made out of hard-wearing plastic.
Dressed in her token mini-skirt, the doll even carries a bemused look on her face.
The toy is sure to be a hit with both young and old fans of the show, in which Matt Smith now stars as the 11th incarnation of the Time Lord.
You can also buy a mini Tardis to go with the time-travelling toy pair and each plastic piece sells for around £15.
Karen said: ‘I’m so excited to be travelling up to Scotland to introduce fans to my new Amy Pond action figure, I can’t wait to meet everyone.’
The stunning redhead suffered a style nightmare when the wind plastered her hair across her face while wearing an unflattering heavy, dark green velvet dress.
Whilst she has sometimes been criticised for her fashion sense, viewers will be in doubt over Karen Gillan’s role as Amy Pond.
