La Redoute (site: laredoute.co.uk) has always been a great choice for inexpensive, good quality fashion. It is also well-known for it’s “Taillissime” brand, which is the official plus-size line from La Redoute. Plus-size women could previously rely on Taillissime to provide the same good quality and inexpensive clothing that La Redoute provides, but to the plus-size market.
However, there has been a recent change in the Taillissime and La Redoute distinctions. Whilst Taillissime still exists, and continues to provide plus-size fashions in up to a size 34, La Redoute now provides plus size clothing in a variety of brands, including; La Redoute Creation, Anne Weyburn etc.
The Plus Size tab on the site gathers all the brands that provide plus-size clothing, and indexes them under department. Thus, if you want to look for a dress, you would click the dresses section under the Plus-size tab, and the site will display all it’s plus-size dresses from each brand available.
This is a great new change as it provides plus-size customers with a wider variety of choice, and a lot more brands to choose from. This can be a blessing when a certain brand only does specific cuts, as they may provide you with the size you want but not the shape you want. With a variety of brands, plus-size readers are more likely to find the clothes they are looking for.
Taillissime has a great boat neck sweater, which looks amazing in turquoise but that is also available in a wide variety of colours. At £29 it won’t make too much of a dent in your pocket!
It falls slightly off the shoulder, which is a very sexy and sophisticated alternative to your normal v-neck sweaters. The bow that ties at the bottom narrows waists and adds extra pretty feminine detail. This is great for work but also a good choice with jeans.
Another alternative to the plain-jane sweater is this sweater by Redoute Creation. At only £9 (!) it’s ribbed cuff and neck detailing make a nice change from your average sweater. The beige colour is great for autumn, although this top does come in a huge variety of colours (which makes it a great sweater to stock your wardrobe with), and is available in up to a size 24.
