DRESS PARADE - A black print dress from Evans Clothing
OK, here’s a big challenge for everyone. Strip off naked and stand in front of your bedroom mirror and take a good look at yourself – it doesn’t matter with you are petite, curvy, tall or short.
Most of you will be looking at what you consider to be your bad bits – those parts of our bodies we would rather hide from others.
Not many will be looking at the good parts – those we should be showing off to best effect.
It’s human nature to think that way, but all of us, however bad or great we think our bodies are, concentrate on what we think are our bad points.
Playing hide and seek with your body is learning how to pick the fashions that suit you best – the clothing that brings out the best in you.
You can shop till you drop on our site but remember your choices should be fashions, colours and designs that flatter your height and weight. The clothes you wear should make you feel comfortable and sexy.
Now, while you’re looking in the mirror, write down three parts of your body you think you like the most and three you hate the most.
It doesn’t matter if you hate love or hate more than three parts, the rule is you can only pick three of each.
The choices for hide and seek are, from the top down:
Neck, shoulders, back, bust, arms, tummy, waist, hips, butt, thighs, calves and feet.
Now you have made your choices, here are some fashion tips to bring out the best in you:

Seek |
|||
| Neck | Knitwear, tops or blouses with high collars, like turtle necks shorten long looking necks | Open necks, v-necks and scoop necks make your neck look longer | ||
| Shoulders | Wear dark colours on your top layer and raglan sleeves to slim shoulders | Widen your shoulders with big lapels or epaulets |
||
| Back | Wide backs look narrower wearing dark, well fitted jackets | Look sexy with a backless dress or halter neck | ||
| Bust | Looser styles, V-necks and single-breasted jackets make a big bust appear smaller | Try stripes – not hoops – ruffles and ruching to show a small bust well |
||
| Arms | Make your arms seem more slender with three-quarter length jackets | Show off slender arms with sleeveless tops, strapless dresses and halter necks. | ||
| Tummy | Looser fitting tops that don’t cling disguise a not-so-flat tummy | Snug fitting tops make a flat tum look good | ||
| Waist | Tailored cuts give the illusion of a narrower waistline | Wide belts and dresses or skirts that tie around the middle accentuate a slim waist | ||
| Hips | Jackets tailored at the waist and with wider shoulder – an inverted triangle style | Styling on the hips like trousers with pockets, zips and flaps add to straight hips | ||
| Butt | Long dresses that don’t cling with no waist ties or belts will show off your curves but make your butt fade in to your clothing | Tight trousers or jeans with belts show off your curves | ||
| Thighs | Balance your look with boot-cut or flared trousers to take the eye away from full thighs | Narrow fitting trousers show slender thighs to good effect | ||
| Calves | Wear clothing that finishes above or below the calves | High heels and A-line skirts were designed with you in mind | ||
| Feet | Give round or square toe cuts a try | A trick of the trade is a low-cut high heel to lengthen the look of feet |
