Plus Size Spanish brands: Biluzik, Raf-Raf (Kurokai) and Carisal

Spanish clothes brands are very distinctive and stylish. Spanish women seem almost effortlessly chic with their petite frames on high heels. Of course, I am generalising but it is true to say that in the past Spanish women have been petite which is reflected in the offerings in the fashion stores whose sizes rarely go above a size 14. However, as in every country, sizes are getting bigger in Spain but the fashion outlets are not meeting demands by offering plus size Spanish brands.  Luckily, three brands are set to change this: Biluzik, Raf-Raf (Kurokai), and Carisal.

Biluzik [site: www.biluzik.com] is a plus size Spanish brand for younger women who want to remain fashion conscious. The models used are real sized models which is a refreshing change to seeing the smaller end of size 14 modelling plus size fashion.  Biluzik SL was founded in 1999 in Barcelona where the head office remains.

Design and quality of clothes has always been of paramount importance to Biluzik and the compamy has grown to become one of the most competitive and forward-looking companies for plus size women.  The plus size fashion brand is sold in stores across Europe and their philosophy is “Our customer’s success is our own success.”  Biluzik also has an online presence where you can view their catalogue and find out more about the brand (available in several different languages) but they do not have an online offering.

Their range is fun and youthful with bold printed T shirts, a touch of rock chic glamour, going out tops with a bit of sparkle, floral prints, and denim.

Kurokai [site: www.kurokai.com] is another plus size Spanish Band aimed at younger women with up to the minute trendy fashions. The company is family run having been established in Barcelona and now has outlets across Spain and Portugal and an online offering that delivers across Europe and Asia.

The clothes are well priced in spring/summer styles fresh from the catwalk. The clothes are in colours of Khaki and washed denim, with prints of stripes and animal prints. The trousers are distinctly Spanish is style with long skinny legs or Bedouin style trousers and pant suits.

Carisal [site: www.carisalfashion.com] is a plus size fashion brand offering a unique style in sizes 44 to 70 to young plus size women. Their style is less trendy than the previous two collections however is is still fashionable and very pretty in very flattering styles.  The company was established in Madrid in 1988 by a committed family team who offer innovative fashion to women of today. Carisal is always in search of the best designs and fabrics which can be used in their collection to flatter the curvy figure.

The spring summer collection consists of pink and white tunics, floral tunics, tartan tunics, modern checks, and denim.
