Fantastic news! As the evening drew to a close for Red Nose Day, £74,360,207 had been raised which is the highest total reached on the night in Red Nose Day’s 23 year history.
The star studded night was fantastic with comedy greats, entertainment stars and the wonderful public all joined in to do something funny for money, in this, the 13th Red Nose Day.
The money raised by Comic Relief and Red Nose Day is used to fund projects both in the UK and Africa.
The highlights are numerous. Smithy sang along with George Michael to some Wham greats, Peter Kaye sang a duet with Susan Boyle, David Mitchell took part in a 24 hour panel show, whilst great comedians such as Victoria Wood and Jennifer Saunders appeared in a reworking of Upstairs Downstairs.
And there can be no forgetting when Miranda took the reins at Pineapple Dance Studio, Such Fun!
