Reebok has recently launched a new collection of colourful trainers for women, labelled Reetone. Their EasyTone are available from Cloggs UK (link: cloggs.co.uk/reetone).
The idea behind the new footwear is that it will help tone women’s bums and legs with every step they take.
The new set are said to be available soon.
Reetone trainers should make working out more effective, as the the producer promises that the EasyTone technology, used in the collection – will help improve muscle tone in the leg up to 28%.
The patented sole technology of the brand mimics walking on sand, causing a higher resistance for your legs against the floor – which makes your legs firmer – even if you are going on simple walks.
It obviously works better the more exercise you do.
The SmoothFit design makes the trainers perfect for women, ensuring minimal rub – decreasing irritation.
Reetone has already been introduced to America, and the campaign has now arrived in Asia-Pacific to promote the Spring/Summer collection.
The campaign is being introduced in even markets across that region, including; Hong King, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
Reebok are targeting women in their 20s and 30s, prompting them to “Ree-think” the definition of sport.
Through this campaign Reebok are trying to revamp their image as a hard-core sports brand – into an image of a sports lifestyle brand.
For them, the focus is now being placed on equipment and products that fit in to the average person’s daily life, instead of encouraging that average person to become a hardcore gym fanatic.
Although in theory this seems like a great idea, and the ads for the campaign look really amazing, it is questionable whether it works.
A lot of comments on blogs and the internet suggest that people actually think it is all a farce, merely the latest fad that will blow over in a couple of months.
I can’t comment for the US, but over here in the UK it doesn’t seem like they have taken the market by storm.
Whilst in theory working out up to 28% more than we actually are seems like a godsend, if we minus the see-through shorts, the bronzed, toned thighs and calves, and put those trainers on the average UK woman – they look like trainers we used to wear when we were about to have our P.E lessons in secondary school.
Reebok have made a great effort on this campaign, but its possible that the only thing that truly works is the photos. Reebok’s EasyTone are available from Cloggs UK (link: cloggs.co.uk/reetone).
