Susan Boyle shocked Britain’s Got Talent viewers when she appeared on stage and showed everyone her amazing singing capabilities.
Her image, on the other hand, did little to impress the audience at the time, but as the show went on viewers warmed to her and began to love everything about her.
Susan Boyle’s first, semi make-over, with her dyed hair and plucked eyebrows was actually disliked by the judges, who though that there was more marketing/selling potential in her unique looks and image rather than trying to transform her into another modern, made-up star.
In fact, many commentators have actually agreed with the judges, believing her ‘image’ to be special to her, and not believing she should try and change into something she’s not.
With her new, more recent makeover, carried out by prestigious style bible Harper’s Bazaar, it can be said that she has somewhat lost some of the link she had with her audience. On blogs and forums alike, people are voicing disapproval at her attempt to look like every other popstar and not keeping some of her original image.
However, in an article written by Lizzie Smith for the Daily Mail, Susan Boyle talks about her make over and how it has made her feel ‘like a movie star‘.
In the photos shown of her make over, Susan Boyle can be seen beaming with happiness.
With her album topping the Amazon bestsellers list months before its release, it is clear that the image makeover hasn’t impacted her amazing record sales.
Although people will always have an opinion over the choices celebrities make, what is most important is the reason why that person made that choice.
At the end of the day, she should do whatever it is that makes her happy and that boosts her confidence and makes her happy with the way she looks.
Undoubtedly she looks great, and if we compare her to the introverted woman we first saw on our TV screens then I would say her new confidence is a definite marked improvement.
Susan Boyle is unlikely trying to follow the crowd, but instead has used her well-earned money to make herself beautiful in order to feel good about herself.
How many people wouldn’t do the same thing?
