Last Thursday evening, Models of Diversity held Curves in Couture in the Tabernacle in Notting Hill, and it was a sight to behold. The event turned out well to say the least. Designers included Anna Scholz, Miss Lacey, Danielle Liane and American designer Jill Alexander, just to name a few. There were also a lot of notable people in attendance as well. Models Robyn Lawley, Toccara Jones, Lizzie Miller and the winner of America’s Next Top Model Whitney Thompson were all present. Designer Zandra Rhodes, photographer and model Velvet d’Amour were also present in the audience. Natalie Cassidy and Pamela Stephenson were hostesses for the event as well.

Plus size clothing retailer, Evans, launches US site
Award winning plus size clothing retailer Evans (website: Evans.co.uk) has now opened its internet doors in the US. Evans has recently launched EvansUSA.com which caters to its US shoppers offering them mostly all of the brands that are available in the UK. Evans has had collection collaborations with musicians Beth Ditto and Chaka Khan. If you are in the US and have never heard of Evans think of it like a mix of the classy conservativeness of Lane Bryant mixed with some fashionable youthfulness from Torrid, Evans provides a very nice in between. Evans USA offers US sizes from 10-28 which is equal to UK sizes 14-32. The prices are in US dollars and even though the prices do look higher they are about the same as the UK prices given the currency exchange rate. Portrait of Emme, plus-size model extraordinaire
Emme, celebrated plus size supermodel and plus size icon, was born in New York in 1963. Emme attended Syracuse University where she was awarded with a full athletic scholarship and was invited to the US Olympic Team trials, as well as several US National Team trials. After graduation, she spent two years as reporter and morning anchor for the NBC affiliate KNAZ-TV. Emme married and has a daughter. In 2007 Emme was diagnosed with cancer and split from her husband.
