UK plus size magazines: Just As Beautfiul and Plus Mag

With the popularity of plus size TV shows rising rapidly, the growth of UK plus size magazines has also expanded.
Just As Beautiful was “the UK’s first free lifestyle magazine dedicated to the plus-size woman”. It also happens to be the leading magazine catering to the plus-sized reader in both the UK and Europe.
It was first published in January 2007, and since then, continues to have thousands of people subscribing.
Published in the middle of every month, Just As Beautiful offers its readers valuable information about curvy celebrities, fashion to suit curvy frames, beauty tips and real life stories.
Plus Mag’s motto is “We’re all about real women“. Their magazine is just that.
With more offers than Just As Beautiful, for example, the opportunity to win a spa day worth £155, a getaway worth £500 and various books and prizes, it can be said that Plus Mag is more interactive with their readers. You also can get to know the regular contributers, and get fashion advice from the likes of Gok Wan.
The most recent issue has a two page spread on plus size clothes to suit the curvy woman, taken from the Evan range.
Their website is extremely easy to use, with the homepage offering to display the latest issue, and also the option to have each issue sent to your email inbox each month.
The UK’s plus size magazines Just As Beautiful and PlusMag are both free, which is also a plus during current times when magazines that are sold for £3-4 are luxuries that many will do without. Thus each magazine ensures it doesn’t lose any of its readers due to monetary reasons, which is a very smart move.
Just As Beautiful requires that you become a member to view its issues, whereas Plus Mag offers an excellent digital edition that is available immediately from its homepage. Plus Mag also has an archive of digital editions of the magazine going back several months, so there is no need to read it at a certain time.
The UK’s plus size magazine Just As Beautiful is, however, the organisers of “Britain’s Next Plus Model“, and offers readers the opportunity to apply and become contestants on the show.
