Never mind the quality, feel the width is an old rag trade saying – but still seems to apply to tall women’s clothing, where prices seem to go up proportionately with every inch of your height.
The same clothes in the same material and style are often a lot more expensive for tall women.
Unfortunately, the sales people at retailers hived tall women’s clothing off to a niche market some time ago, despite the fact that like man, women are naturally growing taller.
Seeing as changing prices is beyond our control, let’s look at the things about tall outfits we can control:
- Most models are tall girls – measuring up to at least 5’ 9” and well over the 5’7” maximum height most high street stores cater for, so stand tall, no slouching and look sexy like your catwalk counterparts.
- Don’t get down at heel about wearing flat shoes. You’re tall and you can’t change that without major structural modification to your body, so accept the fact you are what you are.
- Flat shoes won’t make you taller – nor will they make you shorter, but they will take the muscle tone away from long, shapely legs.
- Remember those outrageous heels models totter down around the runway in – you needn’t go to that extreme, but is an inch or two really going to make a lot of difference?
Clothes that look good on tall girls in clued tailored, tight fitting tops and trousers on the slimmest. Good legs look even better in knee length boots.
