Yasmin Le Bon is one of the original ‘supermodels’ with a successful career spanning three decades. This Autumn Winter Wallis launches an exciting new collaboration ‘YLB For Wallis‘ with world renowned supermodel Yasmin Le Bon. This is the first time Yasmin has stepped away from modelling to design her own range of clothing and jewellery and Wallis is delighted to be working with Yasmin for her exclusive debut collection.
Yasmin reports “So, yes… It’s for a woman like me…And I’m 44. I have a normal-sized body, and if I feel comfortable with the clothes, then I’m hoping other women my age will too,” she says. “Something like this, for example” — she holds up a floor-length jersey dress — “could be worn at home, or on the red carpet with a military jacket around your shoulders. Or this” — she grabs a slippery wool minidress with a high neck and presses it up against herself. “You could put it on in the morning and not think about it again.”
YLB captures the essence of Yasmin, her Persian descent, her iconic style and love of vintage, for a timeless sophisticated collection. Yasmin has been involved in every stage of the project working alongside the Design and Creative teams at Wallis to create ‘a wardrobe I truly want for myself’. As reported in the Guardian “they’re edgy and rock’n'roll, but grown-up.” The collection includes long, lean silk gowns, jewel colours, pendant necklaces, goat-hair capelets and pin-tucked high-neck blouses. “I’m obsessed with high-neck things. You’re covered up but it’s sexy, and I’ve always loved long dresses. Covering up can be a lot sexier than being uncovered. My body has changed, so feeling comfortable and confident, while accentuating the bits that are OK, is important.”
The Wallis brand offers fashion trends to women available in size 8 to 20. Wallis’ women’s fashion will make you feel confident and special; unless you are between a size 18 and 20 and want to enjoy the edgy fashion from the YLB collection! The collection is really stunning however it is only available in sizes up to 16. The remit for the YLB collection was clothes that Yasmin Le Bon would wear herself, which she has undeniably produced very successfully! However, in doing so she has excluded women with curvier figures.
A curvy girl could try the stylish Nude Print Tie Neck Blouse which is a 100% silk v-neck blouse with warm floral print on gorgeous nude base. It has jewelled beads on the neck tie to enhance this alluring print. It is available in sizes up to 16. The Black Pleat Neck Dress is very chic in 100% silk, an above the knee dress with delicate pleating at the neck and side pockets. It is also available peradot lime. It would look great on its own or over a pair of leggings. The Grey Cashmere Batwing Dress can be worn all day into the night. It is a grey knitted silk cashmere blend long sleeve tunic dress with elegant high neck and delicate shell button fastening. This outfit is both sexy and sophisticated. It is also available in rich berry in sizes up to large (16/18). This dress would also look great over a pair of leggings.
My favorite item from the collection is the Ink Embroidered Military Coat. It is a military inspired knee length coat with intricate metallic gold embroidered cuff and back neck detail. It has antique brass buttons to complete this classic but timeless look. It is perfect for those winter days/nights worn with either relaxed or formal attire.
